Robertson, Laurie

Laurie Robertson serves as a Funeral Officiant in the Northumberland County area of South-Eastern Ontario. People come to her for caring and sensitive attention on one of the most important days of a person’s life: when their friends and family gather to say goodbye. All faiths, backgrounds, and lives lived are honoured and dignified here. This is a safe space for you and for your loved one’s final rite of passage.

In interviews with the family Laurie attempts to capture the essence of the person, to be reflected in her words and in the selection of music and memorial ceremonies during the service. Your choices will be incorporated into a service that is uniquely what you want to make it.

Laurie also has a vibrant personal life: active in her church as a chorister and liturgical assistant, photographer, wife, mother of two grown children, and giver of dinner parties. Underlying all this is her favourite metaphor of The Garden: A life flourishes when it is tended and nourished.

Laurie is originally from Vancouver, BC and found Port Hope, Ontario on a summer visit to wine country in Prince Edward County. After over a decade in Northumberland County, Laurie now considers herself an Ontarian.
