Turner, Amanda

I have been proudly serving families as a licensed Funeral Director for 16 years; 15 of them in Windsor, Ontario and surrounding areas. I have a passion for people, a love of helping others and a lot of experience with speaking and ceremony.

In April of 2022, I followed through with something I had wanted to do for many years; I obtained my Funeral Celebrant Certification from Life Celebrants International, enhancing my involvement and participation in Funeral Services, Memorial Services and Celebrations of Life. I am available to help you with any Funeral Celebrant services you require.

Fortunately planning for this type of life event is not something people are “use to” doing or have much information on to make informed decisions without the help of a professional.

With such a wide variety of service options available these days, and various other details to select from, this can easily become quickly overwhelming.

Upon first speaking with my client families regarding service details, after asking a few questions I understand the direction we are headed and begin to offer some ideas and options for service content and flow.

It is very important to me that my client families have a service they feel comfortable with, also allowing them to feel they are honouring the wishes of their loved one.

I always encourage an open collaboration of shared memories, special moments, passions, hobbies, music and even personality traits.

The finial service decisions are always the choice of the family, and this is not always how they are looking to do things, and that is quite fine. Some families have another vision, and I am always looking to help with it.

Some families choose to do all services at the cemetery and would prefer to have someone to say a few short prayers and perhaps a verse or a few short words. Some families want a non-religious service.

Other families, starting at a funeral home may want someone to read a verse, play a song or two and introduce their speakers that will be eulogising their loved one and make any necessary announcements to their guests on their behalf and prefer the Celebrant doesn’t eulogise at all.

Perhaps you have booked a Celebration of Life at a venue that was significant to your loved one, or at your home, where your guests can enjoy some food and drinks, share memories and you would like to have a time frame where people could share a few words or a toast.

These are just a few examples of the various service styles available and often there are a combination starting from one venue and ending at a cemetery or crematorium.

I am available to help you with all Funeral Celebrant services you require, regardless of the service style selected.

When a family shares stories, memories and other life history of their loved one with me; not only are they allowing me to give them ideas for room set up, music and other special personalisation touches, they have now become such an instrumental part in designing the unique tribute that I will officiate in memory of their loved one.

The tribute that will surround family, and guests with the warm welcoming presence of their loved one’s memory; Allowing us to share their “Life Story” together, in celebration that they lived, loved and will always be remembered.
